How lucky we are to live in America and enjoy the freedoms we have.
Saturday, the 3rd, we went to the Rodeo in Lander, Wyoming, and from there we could see the wonderful display of fireworks that Dr. Bill provides. On the way home, we hit a 3 point buck --- the brush guard just paid for itself. There is a scratch on the brush guard where we hit the deer's antler. It must have just been enough to turn him around and continue on his way. There were other missionaries behind us and did not see him on the road. Another deer had just crossed in front of us, and Kent was watching it, when we noticed the other one. He hit his brakes and veered off to the side of the road a bit, so not much damage to either the deer or us occurred.
I had a very spiritual experience this week. Now I know why we were to come to the Willie Center. We were campground hosts last week, and that is another story with miracles in itself, but I want to share what happened to me. Our Oak Hills Group had just taken off back to Provo, and our Cypress Stake from California was on their trek. Even the support people went up to watch the Women's Pull. So it was very quiet in camp. We were reading our scriptures on our iPods and I had been working on an afghan, so I went out to the truck to listen to the scriptures and knit. Well, the media did not work on my iPod, so I just sat in the truck and was knitting away when I heard little children. Little children laughing, singing, being joyful. It only lasted a short moment, but enough to recognize that it had to be the children in the Willie Company. The veil is so thin here. We here things all the time about Bodil Mortensen appearing to people, that other people hear the children, and so I was thrilled that it would happen to me. If the media would have worked on my iPod, I probably would not have heard the children. Another Tender Mercy!
