Tender Mercy

One evening, after working late, I went out to find Kent in the Wood Shop. He is still working on the Surrey (and it is looking great!). I found a little hummingbird and it was having trouble finding its way out of the shop. So I picked up a fly swatter and thought I could maybe help direct where it needed to go, and it stepped on the fly swatter. I could not believe it! I walked outside carefully and it just stayed on the fly swatter. Elder Hill came out and took pictures and finally Kent came out and took a picture. There was thunder and lighting all around us, and it was starting to rain, but the little hummingbird just sat there. Finally, Elder Hill came back and started petting it. He bumped the fly swatter and it took off. I held it for probably 5 minutes. What a special feeling I had.
